Spring Concert 2020
March 2020 Concert - CANCELLED due to the COVID-19 pandemic The Cumbria Rural Choirs Concert at 7.30 pm on Saturday March 21st 2020 in Carlisle Cathedral, accompanied by the British Sinfonietta and conducted by our Musical Director, Ian Wright, has been cancelled for this date. It is hoped that the concert will still take place at some future date; at the time of writing this is still to be arranged. Read more

Summer Concert 2020
Summer 2020 Concert Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have had to cancel our Summer Concert on Sat 20th June 7.30pm in St Mary’s, Wigton. The concert, titled “The Cumbrian Minstrel”, was planned to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Wigton poet and fiddler John Stagg (1770 - 1823), featuring new work based on Stagg’s poems and the music and poetry of his contemporaries, written and conducted by our Music Director, Ian Wright. The Messiah - Christmas Concert 2019
Christmas 2019 Concert Our most recent concert was the Christmas Concert, consisting of a performance of Handel’s Messiah, held on Saturday, 14th December at 7.30pm, in St Mary’s Church in Wigton and conducted by our Musical Director, Ian Wright. It’s hard to believe that Handel’s Messiah only received a luke-warm reception at its world première in Dublin on the 13th April 1742. This certainly wasn’t the case in St Mary’s Church, Wigton on Saturday 14th December. Read more
